1. “DEEPER THAN SOCIAL MEDIA: Finding identity in God rather than likes.” – Michelle Jesko
Imagine that God friended you on social media. What emoji would he choose? He would pick the heart emoji every time. Together we’ll explore how we can live as His beloved daughters, secure in His design, rather than live seeking the approval of others.
2. “HOW TO FEED YOUR FAMILY & YOUR SOUL” – Aimee Wiley
Feeding your family can feel like a full-time job. However, it is written, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” In this session, we’ll demonstrate how to both strategize and simplify mealtimes (recipes included!), as well as how to set a place at the table of your life to feast on God’s Word each day.
3. “HOW TO MENTOR AND BE MENTORED” – Two types of mentoring and real life examples.
Jan Elmendorf and Courtney Ballantyne:
In Titus 2:3-5 Paul instructs Timothy to ask older women to act in the lives of their younger counterparts, teaching them how to be Christians. We need each other today as well, as many young people live far away from parents, and naturally occurring intergenerational community is rare. We invite you into a glimpse of what this bond can look like between two women whom God has paired up as spiritual mother and daughter.
Our second set of mentors, Jo Kowalski and Cathy West, will be sharing what Situational Mentoring looks like:
“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.”Isaiah 43:2
Trials and tribulations are certain to come our way. We can trust that the Lord will always be with us.
God’s Word also tells is that we are “to bear one another’s burdens”. Galatians 6:2.
You’ll have a complete Saturday afternoon of free time. During this time you can relax, catch up with friends, go to the spa (please book your appointment(s) in advance with award winning Aspira Spa), go for a carriage ride (sign-up when registering), or attend “Faith & Fashion” with Laurie Fallucca from 1:30 – 2:30 pm or Dance Lessons from 3:45 – 4:30 pm with Joyce Gitter. You’ll have plenty of options!
Membership is a spiritual, public commitment to worship, grow and serve at our particular Church. We hope that you will get acquainted with our church and, most importantly, Jesus Christ.
Although you are welcome to attend without obligation, we encourage you to learn about us and the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA). At Alliance Bible Church, we encourage a firm commitment to the local church. Christ was so committed to the church that He gave His life for it, and then directed His apostles to establish local assemblies of believers everywhere.
The first step in becoming a member is attendance at our Membership Matters Class. This is held several times per year, and is an overview of the basic truths of Christianity and the unique ministries of our church.
The second step is to indicate your desire for membership by filling out and submitting an application form for prospective membership.
The third step is to meet with our leadership (Elders) privately to give a personal testimony of faith in Jesus Christ as personal Savior.
The fourth step in becoming a member occurs at a worship service when we publicly extend the right hand of fellowship to those who have met the preceding requirements.
Membership is viewed as a covenant of commitment to God and His people in this local body of believers.
We would be happy to further explain the organization of Alliance Bible Church and expectations for membership. For more information, please see a Pastor or an Elder.
Water baptism is as an outward expression of inward faith. Water baptism expresses our identity in Christ. However, like a logo to a ball team, it does not determine that identity.
We schedule water baptisms a few times a year. Spiritual and practical preparation is available through the Baptism Orientation Class which is conducted a week or two prior to the baptismal service. The class is for those desiring to know more about the Scripture’s teaching on baptism and/or for those desiring to be baptized. Once a baptism is scheduled, the congregation is notified via the ABC eNews (a church wide email), and the church bulletin.
For more information on water baptism, see the Christian and Missionary Alliance information link.
Alliance Bible Church is a gospel-centered, biblically-grounded church whose core mission is to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ locally and globally. It is our desire to see people respond in repentance and faith and to see believers grow in their love for, and obedience to, Jesus Christ.
