I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior when I was 8 yrs old.  My 13 yr old sister was invited to AWANA by a neighborhood friend and she loved it!  She invited me to go with her.  I came home from AWANA one night and asked my sister to explain what I heard during counsel time about being a sinner and needing a Savior. So we sat down on my bedroom floor and she opened her Bible to Romans (a book she would later memorize entirely and win the National Talents for Christ her Senior Year of High School).  She told me that Rom 3:23 says all have sinned and showed me all of the other verses in Romans to help me understand my need to receive the free gift of Salvation (Romans 6:23).  Then she asked me if I wanted to pray after we read Romans 10:9&10.  We ended with Romans 10:13 (For whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved!)  We continued attending AWANA and bringing many other kids with us.  We started going to Church and Sunday School as well and grew in our faith.  I was baptized when I was 13 and started serving in the church when I was 15 as an AWANA leader (back then there were no puggles, cubbies or sparks!  Just Chums/Pals 3-6th; Guards/Pioneers 7/8th; and Shipmates –High School!)

As you can see, AWANA has a special place in my heart.  I am excited to still be a part of the AWANA program here at Alliance Bible Church.  I look forward to each Wednesday night to help kids see their need for Jesus and hide God’s Word in their hearts!

I have been married almost 35 years to my husband Matt.  We have 4 children and 2 grandchildren.   Katelyn (married to Austin for 9 years).  They have two children (our first two Grandchildren!), Theodore & Alaythia.  They are Missionary Associates, home right now for less than a year before they leave for the Middle East to start their next term.  Andrew (married to Abby for 7 years). BreAnna, who we raised since she was 4 years old. (married to Nate for 3 years) And Anaika, who we adopted from Haiti, who is 14.  You will see her helping with Kingdom Kidz on Sundays and of course helping in AWANA on Wednesday nights!

In my spare time you will find me volunteering at my daughter’s school, leading the Parent Teacher Fellowship and School Prayer Team.  As a family we enjoy Christian Contemporary Music concerts and playing with our 10 month old goldendoodle Lucy and 8 year old chug (pug/chihuahua mix), Chip.

I have held several positions as an Administrative Assistant and am thankful that God has recently  led me here to Alliance Bible Church where I can use my skills for His Glory!
