What is Children’s ministry about?
We are committed to coming alongside your family in a way that strengthens and nurtures your child’s spiritual growth. Our heart across all of our Children’s Ministry programs is that every child who walks through our doors feels safe, seen, and loved. We believe that when kids truly experience the gospel, their hearts are transformed. Through our weekly Sunday Morning Children’s Programs Kingdom Kidz, Wednesday evening AWANA clubs, and our annual Summer Adventure Camps, we provide meaningful opportunities for your child(ren) to grow in their faith. We emphasize safety, gospel-centered teaching, and lots of fun to ensure that your child’s time with us is both enjoyable and impactful.

Learning Together
Classes for Kids

Early Childhood
Ages: Birth to 4 years
The Early Childhood ministry provides care during each service on Sunday morning. Early Childhood (Birth- four years old) meet in their own part of the building and have have free play, a Bible lesson, craft, and snack.

Elementary Age
Ages: 4 Years to Fifth Grade
Elementary age kids (K4-fifth grade) will begin the morning in the Fellowship Hall with free play and large group time before heading to their classrooms to meet and dive deeper into the morning’s Bible lesson. Together we explore God’s word, memorize scripture, engage in fun activities, and sing praises to Him!

Summer Adventure Camps
June Through August
When school ends, the fun begins! Kids ages 4 years – 8th grade can explore and develop their God-given gifts and talents at one, or more, of our many camps. From horseback riding to sewing to music and drama, and many more, there is sure to be a camp for your child!

Awana Clubs
Ages: 3 Years to Fifth Grade
During the school year, kids ages 3 years through 5th grade are invited to join us for Awana on Wednesdays from 6:15 – 7:45 PM. Through game time, large group teaching, and small group activities, kids learn about God, memorize Scripture, and learn how to apply it to their lives on a daily basis.

What Is Kingdom Kidz?
Kingdom Kidz is our Sunday morning Bible program for children ages birth to fifth grade. Each week we plan fun Bible lessons and crafts for your kids to learn from and participate in. We value safety, friendships and fun each week.
How long into the service can I still check my child into Kingdom Kidz?
Because security is important to us and we want to minimize classroom disruptions, we have a policy to not accept check-ins 30 minutes after the start of service.
Where will my kid be going on Sunday mornings?
K4-Elementary begins Sunday mornings in our Fellowship Hall to play games and worship, they’re then escorted by leaders to their classrooms (we have maps at our check-in desk). Early Childhood rooms are located across from Fellowship Hall on our building’s main level. Please note: In the Summer, k4-Elementary are in The Fellowship Hall during the whole service.
What security measures are in place for my children?
All leaders and volunteers must complete a background check before serving. We require all our leaders and volunteers to go through annual training. There are always adults and staff present during Summer Adventure Camps, AWANA Clubs and Kingdom Kidz Sunday mornings. Additional safety measures are listed below.
AWANA Clubs: A safety team member is present during every club meeting. Only the main Worship Center doors remain open; all others are locked. Every child must be picked up by a parent/guardian at the end of the night.
Kingdom Kidz: For Early Childhood We have two security tags printed with each check-in. A parent or sibling (Ages 16+) can only do pick up and one security tag must be presented when picking up your child. For Elementary, a parent or sibling (ages 13+) must pick up their child at their designated classroom(s).
What if my kid has an allergy?
Medical conditions and allergies are printed at the bottom of each child’s name tag for easy reference.
What is the goal of AWANA Clubs?
AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15). Our goal is to build resilient disciples through scripture memory, comprehension, and fun. We offer 25 minutes of Game Time (based of the nights theme), 25 minutes of Council Time (Bible teaching & worship), and 25 minutes of Handbook Time (small group scripture memory & discussion). We encourage families to practice Bible memory at home so kids can come prepared with 1–2 verses each week. But don’t worry—whether your child has verses ready or not, they are always welcome!
My child didn’t finish their AWANA Handbook last year, do they need a new one?
Cubbies, Kindergarten, and 3rd Grade: Yes, they start a new handbook each year.
Other grades: No, they may continue working in last year’s handbook until it is complete.
What are Summer Adventure Camps?
For 25+ years we’ve offered summer camps for families in our church and neighboring communities to sign up for and attend. Each camp is lead by an expert volunteer. If you’re interested in learning more about this summer ministry click HERE. Or you can contact Jodi at jwhite@myabc.church
When do Summer Adventure Camps registrations open?
Registrations open April 1, 6am each year. However, if you’re interested in leading a camp we take camp theme submissions as early as January. Please connect with our Summer Adventure Camp director, Jodi.
