“Let go and let God” is a motto often shared with someone who’s struggling or burdened by a difficult situation. It sounds like a nice idea and is often said in a kind-hearted way. However, what does it really mean to “let go and let God,” and is that a piece of advice a Christian should follow? We’ll explore this and more in Part 2 of “Catchphrase Christianity.”
Pastor Jon Vallier looks at Philippians 2:12-14 and two problems that this advice presents and one solution to embrace:
1) Problem 1: Overconfidence in ourselves.
2) Problem 2: Under-confidence in God’s means.
3) Solution: Cooperation with God in obedience that leads to assurance.
